2026 F1 Miami: A Business Aviation Guide

April 3, 2026

With a new F1 season upon us, private travel to destinations across the globe will continue to ramp up. One of the most high-profile weekends on the global motorsports calendar is Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix 2026. The event will draw fans, sponsors, and plenty of VIP travelers to South Florida, turning the Miami area into a hub for racing, hospitality, and private aircraft activity.

With the predictable surge in demand for private jets to Miami, operators should plan for elevated congestion across regional airspace, tighter ramp availability, and compressed arrival and departure windows, especially as last-minute itinerary changes begin to take place throughout the race weekend.

At Signature Aviation, we know the best F1 Miami 2026 experience starts well before passengers board your aircraft. This guide covers everything your flight crew needs to know when landing at a Signature Aviation terminal.

What Are the F1 Miami 2026 Dates?

F1 Miami 2026 will take place from May 1-3. The main race is scheduled for May 3; however, the weekend will include 20+ performers and over 30 art installations that are set to attract massive crowds.

This means that depending on which tickets your passengers purchased, their event plans could include just a quick day trip or a full weekend getaway to South Florida.

The race is held at the Miami International Autodrome in Miami Gardens, located 20-30 minutes north of downtown. Peak travel periods will likely be on May 1 as fans arrive for the weekend’s festivities, with the race immediately following on May 3.

Will this be your first private jet flight to Miami for F1? See the post below for more context on what we’ll call ‘rush hour.’

Where Can You Land During Race Weekend?

The Miami area is home to many private aviation terminals. Let’s break down five of our world-class terminals that are the closest to Miami International Autodrome, going from north to south. Special event fees may be required for flights landing at these locations during race weekend. See our Travel Alerts for more information.

Signature BCT: Boca Raton

This state-of-the-art destination includes a 17,000 sq. ft. terminal and 75,000 sq. ft. of hangar space. The facility also features a crew room, crew cars, showers, and a conference center to accommodate the flight crew throughout the F1 Miami 2026 weekend.

  • A temporary flight restriction will be in effect during this event.
  • Arrival and departure slots will not be required during F1 Miami 2026 dates.
  • 3rd party vehicles will be allowed on the ramp during the event.

With limited traffic, the drive from this location to the event venue will be around 45 minutes. Miami traffic during the race weekend is expected to increase, though, so consider adding additional time to account for event commuters.

Signature FLL: Fort Lauderdale

If your passengers are hoping for a short commute, Signature FLL is a great landing spot for F1 Miami 2026. Depending on traffic, our private aviation terminal at Fort Lauderdale International could put your passengers within 20 minutes of the Miami International Autodrome. Because there is no hangar, remote parking may be used on the Tropical Ramp or Taxiway Echo once capacity is reached.

  • A temporary flight restriction is not planned, but Presidential TFRs are common and could occur during F1 Miami 2026 festivities due to its proximity to West Palm Beach, where the President maintains a residence.
  • Arrival slots are not required at this location.
  • 3rd party vehicles will have access to the ramp during the event.
  • 24/7 access to US customs is available at this location.
  • The Signature FLL team can help crews and passengers coordinate flights to the Kentucky Derby, which takes place the same weekend.

Signature OPF: Opa Locka

Located 13 miles north of Downtown Miami, Signature OPF also puts your passengers roughly 20 minutes from the F1 Miami 2026 venue. The Signature team will have extra personnel on hand throughout race weekend to ensure safety protocols are followed.

With showers, snooze rooms, a lounge, and many more amenities, this private aviation terminal provides you, your flight crew, and passengers an added touch of luxury during arrival and departure.

  • A TFR is not expected during the event.
  • Arrival slots are not required at this location.
  • 3rd party vehicles will have access to the ramp during the event.
  • Overflow parking will be available.
  • A private crew lounge and food will be available during the Sunday race.

Signature MIA: Miami

Because Miami International Airport is the largest of the five Miami FBOs, Signature MIA boasts great experience with high traffic events throughout the year. Great highway access will put passengers 25-30 minutes from the Miami International Autodrome.

  • A temporary flight restriction will not be in effect during this event.
  • Arrival slots are not required at this location.
  • 3rd party vehicles will not have access to the ramp during the event.
  • Remote parking will be available 1.5 miles from this location.

Signature TMB: Miami Executive

Our Miami Executive Airport location features excellent facilities for flight crews to enjoy during the race. A comfortable crew lounge with quiet areas for rest and a weather briefing access station are two of the top amenities during F1 Miami 2026. For your passengers, this Miami FBO is a bit further away from the Miami International Autodrome. Without traffic, expect the drive to be around one hour.

  • A temporary flight restriction will not be in effect during this event.
  • Arrival slots are not required at this location.
  • 3rd party vehicles will not have access to the ramp during the event.
  • Remote parking will be available 1.5 miles from this location.
  • Prior to arrival, crews are encouraged to coordinate parking, ground handling services, and fuel with the Signature team.

Planning and Logistics

For pilots and flight crews, flying a private jet to Miami on race weekend may look somewhat different than a typical day. It all starts with the potential increase of planes in the air and on the ground in the Miami area.

Traffic

During periods of heavy traffic, it becomes even more important to follow safety policies and procedures. Depending on which airport you fly into, the possibilities for delays and holding patterns may increase during race weekend as the skies become busier. Don’t worry, though; our dedicated ground staff will go the extra mile during race weekend to ensure your arrival and departure processes are as efficient as possible.

Parking

Each F1 Miami 2026 date will likely bring a heavy increase in private aircraft on the ground. Upon arrival, be prepared to park nose-in until takeoff. This helps private aviation terminals like ours accommodate a larger number of aircraft.

What about hangar space? While it will be available to a select number of private jets, it may be on a first-come, first-served basis during high-traffic events. If you require a specific parking request, it is best to communicate this to the private aviation terminal team as far in advance of arrival as possible.

Refueling

Expect a busier-than-usual ramp during F1 Miami 2026. To skip the last-minute rush, consider refueling upon arrival. This simple switch will ensure a smoother departure. Be sure to connect with the staff at your arrival airport to schedule this service so you and your crew can skip the hassle when preparing for takeoff.

Communication

In the days and weeks leading up to F1 Miami 2026, communication between dispatchers, private aviation terminals, and pilots is crucial to ensuring no surprises before arrival. At Signature

Aviation, our customer service teams will work with flight crews to coordinate arrival times and provide the best service upon landing. This can be done best through email or over the phone. Signature Vision and the Signature website offer the fastest place to make, manage, and modify reservations.

Safety and security are always the top priority across Signature Aviation’s private aviation terminal network. During the F1 Miami 2026 dates, expect additional support staff to ensure we are fully equipped to serve your crew and passengers at all times.
