Operational Alerts
Hurricane Isaias - Signature MOB, BFM, & HSV
Signature is actively monitoring Hurricane Isaias and coordinating preparedness efforts across Mobile Downtown Airport (BFM), Mobile International Airport (MOB), and Huntsville International Airport (HSV).
Hurricane Isaias is forecast to make landfall as a Category 2 storm before midnight, with the primary impact area shifting east between Pensacola and Tallahassee. While this track adjustment has reduced expected impacts across the Mobile area, operators should continue to anticipate weather-related operational disruptions.
Expected Conditions
Signature MOB and BFM:
- Peak impact window: 1300L today through 0100L tonight
- Aircraft and ground support equipment have been secured
- Signature MOB will remain operational through the final airline departure before transitioning to on-call status
- Signature BFM personnel remain on-call today and are expected to return at 0900L tomorrow
- Airlines are currently planning to resume operations at MOB around 1100L tomorrow
Signature HSV:
- Peak impact window: 0100L through 1300L tomorrow
- Operations are currently expected to continue as normal through the weekend
- Ground support equipment will be secured indoors where space permits
Operator Recommendations Operators planning travel through MOB, BFM, or HSV should:
- Confirm handling requests and service needs in advance.
- Monitor weather forecasts, NOTAMs, and airport operating conditions closely.
- Review alternate airport options and repositioning plans as necessary.
- Verify arrival and departure schedules before travel, as operating conditions may change.
