Planning and Logistics

As you know, private aviation travel requires a high level of planning and logistics before flight. Use this guide as a resource in the coming days and weeks as you and your crew plan for the best possible trip to NYC.

Where to Land

For guests taking a private jet to New York, Signature Aviation has multiple private aviation terminals to choose from in and around NYC. Explore our top recommendations below:

Teterboro Airport (TEB):

TEB is Signature Aviation’s premier NYC private aviation terminal and is an ideal choice for arriving in the Big Apple. Signature is proud to offer three individual terminals at the East, South, and West sides of TEB to accommodate high traffic. Only 13 miles (roughly 45-60 minutes) from Arthur Ashe Stadium, these FBOs have easy access to major highways without the hassle of being in the middle of the city.

These terminals do not allow third-party vehicles on the ramp, but our crew on-site is happy to assist with any transportation and security necessary to get you from point A to point B.

Westchester County Airport (HPN):

HPN is a fantastic location for guests in need of a quick turnaround while remaining near the city for easy transportation. Dependent on traffic, HPN is a 30-60 minute drive from the city.

Guests will experience all the amenities they desire from a private aviation terminal, including the allowance of 3rd party vehicles on the ramp.

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR):

EWR Is an ideal airport for business operations and may be a good choice for guests seeking uninterrupted business aviation amenities during a slightly busier NYC travel season.

Similar to TEB, 3rd party vehicles are not allowed on the ramp throughout the event.

Ensure your flight crews and passengers receive the exact experience and amenities they need for this trip by communicating their aviation terminal preferences and working together to find the best arrival location.

If you need additional information regarding travel plans, the Signature Aviation team at your specific terminal is there to talk through any questions you may have.

Traffic

The traffic and busyness that come with New York airports is no surprise to any private charter crew, but it's important to keep in mind that traffic at airports like TEB will be even busier than usual due to US Open Tennis and New York Fashion Week travel.

Signature strongly advises proactive communication with your terminal operator to ensure there is no risk of going into gridlock during arrival or departure on these high-traffic days.

Refueling

In the event of increased demand for fuel, additional manpower, fuel trucks, and tow teams are available to be brought in.

Parking

All FBOs are utilized during event-heavy weeks to ensure that as many requests as possible can be accommodated.

The Signature team works together to process hangar requests and determine which FBO is best suited to accommodate guests. These requests are evaluated on a day-to-day basis, as ramps are regularly tight and require active traffic control.

Hangar rentals exist on a first-come first-serve basis and are not guaranteed. In the event of full hangars, remote taxiway parking is recommended.

Communication

Communication across all channels is crucial for a successful private aviation trip from start to finish. We advise communicating trip details to the Signature team ahead of time, including any arrival time and questions.

Conversely, Signature will communicate with your team prior to flight departure through email and special event website postings. If you have additional questions, customer service reps will always be available to answer questions and provide additional information based on your unique situation.
