Super Bowl LIX 2025: A Business Aviation Guide

January 2, 2025

Football fanatics and pop-culture followers alike are gearing up for the biggest event of the season, Super Bowl LIX.

While the teams that will compete in the NFL spectacle this February are yet to be determined, fans across the nation are already making plans for a weekend to enjoy the event in New Orleans, LA.

This event draws anywhere from 60,000 to 100,000 in-person spectators annually, not including the 100 million+ online viewers in the U.S. alone. A different American city hosts the Super Bowl every year, and while this is a great privilege, it can also put a strain on local infrastructure and smooth travel expectations.

Signature Aviation knows that a seamless travel experience is crucial for a seamless trip overall. We crafted this travel guide so your crew can have the best possible experience as they provide flights to the Super Bowl—for their sake and the sake of your private aviation passengers.

Super Bowl 2025 Timeline

Although the game itself will only last for a handful of hours, many travelers will arrive by way of private jet to New Orleans well in advance of the game for a weekend in the vibrant city. From jazz music to iconic food and landmarks, New Orleans will provide ample entertainment before kickoff.

The Signature Aviation team takes great measures to ensure your crew and passengers have a great experience on their trip, beginning with flights to the Super Bowl and ending with departure.

Traffic

Managing on-ramp traffic is paramount to ensuring a smooth experience for everyone, no matter your airport of choice.

Departure and arrival slots are required for both MSY and NEW private aviation terminals. Be aware that depending on how to close the event your slot is booked, flexibility may be required to work around preexisting slot reservations.

Additionally, staying on schedule and not missing your slot will set your passengers, crew, and on-the-ground staff up for success from the start.

Parking and Refueling

Ramp parking and fueling will function on a first come, first serve basis at our New Orleans private aviation terminals, and third-party vehicle access on the ramp during the event will be restricted.

Communication

Our Signature private aviation teams will stay tuned into regular FAA meetings and use additional FAA notices for current updates on event-specific information. Additionally, clear slot communication between all teams and flight crews will mitigate confusion and ensure the most seamless experience possible.

Safety and security are Signature Aviation's highest priorities day in and day out, but an event like the Super Bowl brings that priority into sharp focus. Staff at every private aviation terminal takes the safety and security of our guests seriously, and are prepped and ready for additional security measures that may be necessary for traffic volumes that the Super Bowl could create.
