Signature Flight Support, the world’s largest network of Fixed Base Operators, has announced the launch of a pilot scholarship program for aspiring European aviators. Designed to empower the next generation of business aviation pilots, the grant is conducted in conjunction with the Honourable Guild of Air Pilots.
 

The first named recipient of Signature’s scholarship is 17 year old Harry Thomas from Northampton, England. Harry was selected from over 500 online applications for the 2019 summer scholarship program, which featured two rounds of written tests and three interviews.  His submission notably exhibited an enthusiasm for aviation, supported by a number of extracurricular efforts including participation in a rigorous Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award program and volunteer work with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets at the National Air and Space Museum.
 

In addition to financial support in obtaining his EASA Private Pilot License certification, Harry toured Signature Flight Support’s Fixed Base Operation at London-Luton Airport, including a visitation with a recently qualified business jet pilot in the appropriate venue of an aircraft cockpit.
