Kavala, referred to as “The Monaco of Greece”, is a beautiful seaport town in eastern Macedonia that is built like an amphitheater on the slopes of Mount Symvolo and rises from the harbor up to a Byzantine fortress. Kavala is known for historic buildings and architecture, wonderful beaches, turquoise waters, and fine sand. The promenade at the port has lots of restaurants, cafes, and bars. Kavala (Megas Alexandros) Airport (KVA) is located 30 km east of town.
